Team Tanzania Off to China for Tourism Promotion Mission

Tanzanian delegation will visit People’s Republic of China next week for an extensive tourism promotion campaign to the fast growing economy country of China. Team Tanzania led by the Deputy Permanent Secretary from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism Ms. Nuru Millao will attend the China Outbound Travel and Tourism Market fair scheduled from 8th to 11th April in Beijing.

TEAM TANZANIA OFF TO CHINA FOR TOURISM

PROMOTION MISSION

 

Tanzanian delegation will visit People’s Republic of China next week for an extensive tourism promotion campaign to the fast growing economy country of China. Team Tanzania led by the Deputy Permanent Secretary from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism Ms. Nuru Millao will attend the China Outbound Travel and Tourism Market fair scheduled from 8th to 11th April in Beijing.

During the campaign to promote destination Tanzania, Team Tanzania will have strategic meetings in Beijing with the National Tourism Administration of the People’s Republic of China (NTAC) aiming at establishing partnership with the tourism institutions in the country. These meetings will have focus on areas of co-operation on issues related to policies; tourism planning and development; and promotion in the tourism sector.

Moreover, the meetings will be used to explore on the possibilities of co-operation in wildlife conservation; tourism development projects through exchange programmes and other avenues between Tanzania and China National Parks.

Various presentations will be made by the team to Chinese investors including negotiations with the Chinese International Airlines, particularly Air China and Hainan Airlines, will be made to seek their possibilities of introducing direct flights in Tanzania. Chinese hotel investors will also have an opportunity to meet the team on the possibility of investing in the country.

Other areas of discussion during the visit will be on the potential marine based tourism; joint partnerships in the conservation of archaeological heritage sites; mountaineering activities in the country.

Various road shows by Team Tanzanian will also be conducted in various cities of China where presentations and press conferences will be conducted for tourism operators in China.

Team Tanzania which is comprised of officials from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism; Tanzania National Parks; Tanzania Tourist Board; Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority and other tourism stakeholders in the country, from hotel, air travel and tour operators sectors, will be back on 19th April 2013.
