REF: PERMITS FOR CONDUCTING NON-CONSUMPTIVE WILDLIFE UTILIZATION OUTSIDE THE NATIONAL PARKS AND NGORONGORO CONSERVATION AREA
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism is hereby reminding all Tour Operators and owners of Tourist Lodges and Campsites operating in wildlife areas outside the National Parks and Ngorongoro Conservation Area that Regulation 4 of The Wildlife Conservation (Non-Consumptive Wildlife Utilization Regulations, 2008)requiresthem to obtain a permit from the Director of Wildlife before conducting any tourism activities.
Operators can obtain permits for their clients from our officers at the CITES, Tourist Hunting and Photographic Tourism Office (Arusha), Selous Game Reserve (Matambwe and Mtemere entry gates) and/or Wildlife Division – Headquarters office (Dar es Salaam).
Following adoption of the electronic permitting system, processing of permits can also be done online. The Online system can be accessed through https://photographic.mnrt.go.tz. To register to an online system and for more information please contact support@mnrt.go.tz.
As from 1st August 2013, the Ministry will be inspecting and performing surprise checks at different points to ensure compliance of this regulation. Therefore you are officially reminded to adhere to provisions of these regulations to avoid any inconveniences that may arise as failure to comply to these regulations.
